CJC-1295 NO DAC Facts

What is CJC-1295 NO DAC?

CJC-1295 NO DAC is a synthetic peptide and an analog of Growth Hormone-Releasing Hormone (GHRH). It is designed to stimulate the pituitary gland to release the body's own growth hormone (GH) in a pulsatile manner.

Unlike the original CJC-1295 formulation, the NO DAC version does not contain the Drug Affinity Complex (DAC), giving it a much shorter duration of action.

Basic Information

  • Peptide Class: Growth Hormone-Releasing Hormone (GHRH) analog
  • Length: 29 amino acids
  • Administration: Typically investigated via subcutaneous injection
  • Primary Target: GHRH receptors in the anterior pituitary gland
  • Half-life: Approximately 30 minutes (significantly shorter than CJC-1295 with DAC)

Mechanism of Action

CJC-1295 NO DAC binds to GHRH receptors on somatotroph cells in the anterior pituitary.

This stimulates the release of:

  • Growth Hormone (GH)

The released GH then stimulates production of:

  • Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 (IGF-1), primarily in the liver.

Because NO DAC has a short half-life, it is intended to mimic the body's natural pulsatile secretion of growth hormone rather than maintaining continuously elevated hormone levels.

Areas of Research

Researchers have investigated CJC-1295 NO DAC for its potential effects on:

Growth Hormone Secretion

  • Increases endogenous (naturally produced) growth hormone release.
  • Produces pulsatile GH secretion rather than directly supplying GH.

IGF-1 Production

  • Elevated GH levels may increase circulating IGF-1, an important mediator of growth hormone activity.

Body Composition

Clinical and preclinical research has explored whether increased GH and IGF-1 levels may influence:

  • Lean body mass
  • Fat metabolism
  • Muscle preservation

The evidence for these outcomes is still limited.

Exercise Recovery

Researchers have investigated whether enhanced GH secretion may influence:

  • Recovery after exercise
  • Connective tissue remodeling
  • Muscle repair

Human evidence remains limited.

Sleep Research

Growth hormone is naturally released during deep sleep.

Researchers have explored whether stimulating endogenous GH release may influence sleep physiology, although findings have been mixed.

CJC-1295 NO DAC vs. CJC-1295 with DAC

Feature NO DAC With DAC
Half-life ~30 minutes Approximately 5–8 days
GH Release Pulsatile Sustained
IGF-1 Elevation Shorter duration Longer-lasting
Drug Affinity Complex No Yes

The absence of the Drug Affinity Complex means the peptide is cleared from the body much more quickly.

Human Research

Small clinical studies involving GHRH analogs have demonstrated:

  • Increased circulating GH
  • Increased IGF-1 concentrations
  • Generally favorable tolerability under controlled research conditions

However, large, long-term clinical trials evaluating safety and effectiveness for specific medical uses are lacking.
